Feast Day and Lesson from Lourdes
Tomorrow, there will be a brief article on the upcoming feast day of Corona, or the Coronation of the Holy Daughter as Queen of Heaven which is this Lunadi/Monday, 14 Maia/May 1.
If anyone would like to send in appropriate ritual ideas, that would be great!
Not everyone can afford roses or fancy feasts. As always, Our Kyria appreciates everything that is done in Her honor.
There is a story about Lourdes. Catholics believe that it was the Blessed Virgin Mary who appeared at Lourdes. In actuality, it was a young teenaged-looking girl who appeared there who was dressed exactly like a young goddess Diana. The Madrians have always believed that it was the Holy Daughter Who appeared there. And, as we know, the Church had an habit of changing the appearance and words of the apparitions. When the statue of Our Lady of Lourdes was uncovered, St. Bernadette expressed profound disappointment. She said that the Lady Who had appeared to her looked nothing like the statue.
Either way, young Bernadette had a simple, inexpensive pair of rosary beads as her family was not well off. As she was praying the rosary before the apparition of the Lady, an adult friend lent her a very expensive pair of rosary beads. The Lady indicated that Bernadette should return the beads to the owner and use her own, simple beads.
The moral of the story is that Our Lady does not require fanciness or lavishness. It is the purity of the Heart and the love behind the offerings that are important to Her. So, whether you use roses or daisies, have a sumptuous feast or a simple meal, as long as it is performed with a true heart, a true devotion, She will be pleased.
May Our Lady bless you.
Blessed is She.
