Day of Madria Sophia
O, Madria Sophia, Jana of Intelligence, Intuition and Wisdom, be with us. May the Pure Stream of Your Virtues flow within me, in this world and in all the worlds to come. Blessed are You.
(Please note that the recent post has been edited. Hopefully it makes more sense!)
And also, all of our prayers and rites are completely optional. They are merely offerings or suggestions and are not mandatory for either JOP members of Janite devotees.
Recently, we were asked about rituals and devotions to the Great Mother. Here are a few of our devotions in Her honor:
The first devotion in honor of the Great Mother that comes to mind is our Evensong Rite. Evensong, in the Janite Tradition, is the prayer ritual during the time of Twilight; the time of the Great Mother. It is the last of the three major prayer times of the day.
But, it is traditional to pray or lift up our minds to Dea three times a day. These prayer times can be as simple as telling Our Lady we love Her; it could be a quick prayer or hymn; or it could be a time of scripture reading or a rosary.
But, we do offer three rites and Evensong is the last of the day. It may be found, here: https://deanic.com/prayers-and-rites/evensong-rite/.
Litany to the Great Mother
The Trinitarii Rosary may be prayed in Her honor simply by substituting the Hail, Mysteria for the Hail, Mari prayer.
Short Prayers, anyone of which may be used for a mantra rosary
Ave, Mysteria, Dea Matrona, Gloria Plena.
Eternal is the Life of the Great Mother,
She Who is the Supernal Star. Blessed is She.
O, Veiled Fora of Faith,
we glorify You, we magnify You, we adore You.
O, Veiled Fora of Faith, be with us.
O, Last Twilight of Sunset, be with us.
O, Shining Darkness before the Dawn, be with us.
Psalms 9 and 14 were written in Her honor:
We will be developing more psalms, prayers and rites in the future.
May She Who is the Dark beyond the light and Light beyond the darkness, be with you.
ArchMatrona Candra Sophia.
