Septena to Agia Grace, The Five Primordial Elements

Columbina, 24 Maia

Day of Agia Grace/Sai Sushuri, Jana of Compassion, Love and Mercy.

O, Agia Grace, be with us.

Recently, we discussed how novenas are nine day prayers during which we request a special intention, whether it be for healing, employment, or something spiritual. These requests may be for our loved ones, friends or even for ourselves. Novenas are a very powerful means of prayer. In the Janite Tradition, we are now developing septenas, that is, seven days of our own prayers.

Novenas/septenas are usually written in a certain style with three main sections, i.e., invocation, intention and either spiritual request or thanksgiving. And so, each novena usually begins with an invocation, for example in the novena to St. Michael the Archangel we read:

Saint Michael the Archangel, loyal champion of God and His People. I/we turn to you with confidence and seek your powerful intercession. For the love of God, Who made you so glorious in grace and power, and for the love of the Mother of Jesus, the Queen of the Angels……, etc.

Usually, the request of intention occurs either in the middle or at the end of the prayer such as in this example for St. Therese of Liseux:

Please pick for me a rose
from the heavenly garden
and send it to me
as a message of love.

O Little Flower of Jesus,
ask God to grant the favors
I now place with confidence
in your hands
( mention your special prayer request here such as….. may (name of person) be healed of their addiction or may (name) find gainful employment.)

(St. Therese, who died of tuberculous at age 24, promised to spend her Heaven doing good for the people on Earth. Oftentimes, her devotees will receive a rose signifying that their prayer has been heard.)

The intention request is usually followed by a prayer for spiritual help and/or a prayer of thanksgiving such as this spiritual request at the end of the Novena for Our Lady of LaSalette:

Reject not my prayer, O Virgin of reconciliation, convert me, obtain for me the grace to love Jesus Christ above all things and to console thee, too, by living a holy life, in order that one day I may be able to see thee in Heaven. Amen.

Most novenas end with the three main Catholic prayers, i.e.; the Our Father, the Hail Mary and the Glory Be.  [The three main prayers of the Janites are the Shining Star (formerly Silver Star), the Hail, Dea and the Eternity Prayer.]

The Novena to Our Lady of Carmel is followed by the traditional three main Catholic prayers:

O Beautiful Flower of Carmel, most fruitful vine, splendor of heaven, holy and singular, who brought forth the Son of God, still ever remaining a pure virgin, assist us in our necessity! O Star of the Sea, help and protect us! Show us that you are our Mother!
(pause and mention petitions) Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory Be, Our Lady of Mount Carmel, pray for us.

So, keeping these guidelines in mind, the following is a septena to Agia Grace/Sai

A septena for Agia (Aye-a) Grace/Sai Sushuri, the Lady of healing.

The first seven of these septenas will have a mystical reference to the Element over which They rule. Agia Grace/Sai Sushuri is not only the Patroness of Healing, She is also the Guardian and Ruler of the Primordial Element of Water.

When we speak about the Five Elements (the Fifth or Spirit Element being God), we are not talking about water, fire, earth and air as in a drop of rain, the flame of a fire, a handful of soil or the wind in our hair; rather we are referring to the four Primordial (Energy) Form or Gestalt, (1) which informs the vibrations of the four lower elements. They could be understood as Primordial Patterns or Ideas.

To perform the septena, if possible, light a blessed seven day novena candle. (Be sure to extinguish it when not at home.) Or use an LED candle. Otherwise, again, if possible, light a blessed candle and pray the following once a day for seven days in a row:

O, Most Holy Agia Grace, Whose blessing hands shower us with healing waters and  Whose Crystal Chalice spills silvery graces, be with us. May Your face shine upon us with gentleness. May Your luminous eyes gaze upon us with tenderness. And may Your heart beat as one with ours as we lay our cares before You.

O, Agia Grace, Ruler of the Supernal Waters, (state request) and may (she/he) be immersed in the Shimmering Streams of Compassion, Love and Mercy.  Blessed are You. (copyright Janite Ekklesia).

End with: Shining Star of the Waters, the full Hail Dea and the Eternity Prayer. Followed by the traditional Janite blessings. (2 & 3)

If you wish to share your own septena with us, please send it either to Madria Sophia at maidsophiawelsh@gmail.com or myself, ArchMadria Candra Sophia at deanicfaith@gmail.com. (And, this email address is again working, sorry about the recent mix-up).

May Our Lady bless you,

Blessed is She.
