Joyous Assumpta, and a happy Abundance Moon! The Daughter has rejoined Our Mother in Her heavenly home, and Her lantern shines brightly in the dark of night.
Devotees should offer the Rite of Veneration today, both in celebration of Assumpta, and in honor of the beautiful full moon! Please note that the RoV can be served three days before to three days after the full moon.
Please see below for various needful things relative to the Rite of Veneration.
How to Make Holy Water
(To make holy water, it’s best to use a natural, flowing water, if readily available.
Sources for such water are rivers, lakes, brooks, melted snow and underground springs. I keep extra on hand in a large mason jar. Bottled spring water may also be used for those who live in a city.)
•Bowl or jar for holy water.
How to Perform the Blessing:
1. Pour some salt in your left hand.
2. Use the Trinity blessing gesture of the right hand.
(With your right hand, fold the pinky and ring fingers down while crossing the thumb over them. Your fore and middle fingers remain upright (this is the Blessing Hand).
3. Trace the Fora over the salt
“May this salt be cleansed and blessed,
in the Name of the Mother, (trace Fora a second time),
and of the Daughter, (trace Fora a third time)
and of the Great Mother.”
“Iot ‘E Voh.”
(The Sacred Name of Power, IHV by saying the E with the out breath, it is breathed rather than pronounced. It may also be pronounced Yot ‘E Voh.)
4. Then, with your right hand, take three pinches of salt out of your left hand and pour them into the bowl of water. Pour any remaining salt along the inside of your door threshold as a blessing and protection of the home.
5. With object blessed wand or right forefinger, stir the water three times sunwise – clockwise.
6. Form the Blessing Hand and trace the Fora over the water while saying:
“May this water be blessed in the Name of the Mother, (trace Fora a second time), and of the Daughter, (trace Fora a third time), and of the Great Mother.”
The Blessing Rite
(For the blessing and consecration of candles and objects).
You will need:
•Holy Oil: https://deanic.com/rituals/making-holy-oil/
•Good incense, whether stick, cone or resin.
(Make sure candles are cleaned with olive, almond or jojoba oil.)
(If using a votive candle in a glass container, use window cleaner for the glass.)
(Make sure statues or other objects to be blessed are cleaned, as well.)
1. Begin by tracing the Fora over yourself.
Prayer (Blessed is Our Mother God, the Holy One)
“Blessed is Our Mother God, the Holy One.
She Who is the Celestial Mother,
She Who is the Holy Daughter,
She Who is the Great Mother,
Blessed is She.”
“Blessed is Our Mother God, the Holy One,
She Who is Mari,
She Who is Jana,
She Who is Mysteria,
Blessed is She.”
2. Blessing of the item:
Take the Blessing Wand and dip in the holy water. Shake the blessing wand three times over the object which will sprinkle (asperge) the object with holy water. (Fingertips may be used, as well. Dip first two fingers in holy water, then shake/sprinkle the holy water onto the object.)
Then, trace the Fora over the object while saying: “May this (name object) be blessed, in the Name of the Mother and of the Daughter and of the Great Mother. Blessed is She.”
3. To Consecrate the Item:
(Please note, if you are allergic to incense, this step may be skipped.)
Take the incense and use it to trace the Fora over the item and then circle the incense three times clockwise beneath the item, enfolding the object in the smoke while saying: “May this (name object) be consecrated, in the Name of the Mother and of the Daughter and of the Great Mother. Blessed is She.”
4. To Anoint the Item:
Finally, dip the forefinger in holy oil and trace the Fora on the object while saying: “May this (name object) be consecrated, in the Name of the Mother and of the Daughter and of the Great Mother. Blessed is She.”
“Iot ̓ E Voh”
(The Sacred Name of Power, IHV by saying the E with the out breath, it is breathed rather than pronounced. It may also be pronounced Yot ‘E Voh.)
End by tracing the Fora over yourself.
