AURORA RITE

Please note: all of our prayers are optional. The following are some suggestions and ideas for morning prayer known as the Aurora Rite. It is in honor of the Holy Daughter, Janna, Whose Time of Day is Dawn.

For many of us, time is limited, but prayers are not. Neither are prayers limited to the home shrine. We may pray anywhere, any time. For example, the Janati may be greeted and a rosary prayed while driving to work. A brief prayer may be silently prayed, any time. During break or lunch, it doesn’t matter where we are, we can always offer a moment to Dea during our day.

Every form of prayer is fine. An hymn, a chant or even speaking to Dea in our own words. What is important is that we greet the Janati every day and raise our minds and hearts to Dea. In the Janite Tradition, we pray three times a day beginning with Aurora.

Keep in mind, all is optional:

AURORA RITE (in honor of the Holy Daughter, Janna.

In the morning, light candles and incense, if desired. (We veil during formal prayer and liturgy. The veil may be a mantilla or chapel veil, scarf, kerchief, etc.)

To see how to trace the Fora see: How to Trace the Fora.

Trace the Fora upon yourself while saying:
In the Name of the Mother, and of the Daughter, and the Great Mother. Blessed is She.

Begin with:

Blessed is Our Mother God, the Holy One,

She Who is Mari,

She Who is Janna, She Who is Mysteria,

Blessed is She.

Face East, trace the Fora in the air:

O, Sai Sushuri Grace, Guardian of East and Water, may there be peace, be with us. Blessed are you. Bow.

Face South, trace the Fora in the air and say:
O, Sai Vikhe , Guardian of South and Fire, may there be peace, be with us. Blessed are you.  Bow.

Face West, trace the Fora in the air and say:
O, Sai Thema, Guardian of West and Earth, may there be peace, be with us. Blessed are you. Bow.

Face North, trace the Fora and say:
O, Sai Mati Sage, Guardian of North and Air, may there be peace, be with us. Blessed are you. Bow.

Face East again (for Center), trace the Fora in the air and say:
O, Sai Raya Theia, Sai Candre’ and Sai Rhea, Guardians of Center and Spirit, may there be peace, be with us. Blessed are you. Bow.

The following are ideas and suggestions for Aurora, which is the Time of the Holy Daughter. Devotees may choose what resonates with them or they may choose their own prayers.

Chant: Ave, Janna, Rosa Mundi, Gloria Plena.

Hail, Janna, Rose of the World, Full of Glory.

or

Daughter of Light, that reigns as Queen of Heaven, all praise and honor we joyfully give to You. Give us to learn that You are by our side in every act that we make. Teach us obedience and humility and joy of heart that comes of self-forgetting. Help us to be clear mirrors of Your Love; reflecting all the beauty of the world; for beauty is the echo of Eternity. Fix our hearts on the Eternal and let us not be turned from You by transient things. Rescue us from the hands of darkness that we may serve You with all our being here and in Your bright Eternity. Blessed are You. (From the Madrian.)
