SOLITARY RITE OF CONSECRATION into the Janite Deanic Ekklesia.
by ArchMadria Pamela Lanides
A devotee should practice the Janite Deanic religious Tradition for six months before making the Solitary Consecration/Initiation into the Janite Deanic Ekklesia and should be at least 18 years of age unless parental permission has been given.
If possible, the devotee will be dressed in white. Females may veil (chapel veil/manilla/scarf/bandana/kerchief, etc.). Males may choose to wear a religious head-covering.
If you have a religious pendant such as the Hamsa, (which is a pre-Abrahamic symbol which, in ancient times, represented the Hand and Protection of the Goddess), or Fora, make sure it is blessed and place it on the altar/table/shrine. If you are choosing the pendant of your Patroness Jana:
For Sai Thea: The Sun.
For Sai Candre’: The Moon.
For Sai Vikhe’: The Rose
For Sai Mati Saige: The North Star.
For Sai Sushuri Grace: The Dove.
For Sai Rhea: The Fora.
Of course, more than one holy pendant may be worn at the same time.
There should be holy water, holy oil, incense (this step may be skipped if allergic to incense), blessed candles, a copy of the Deanic scriptures, a prayer written in your own words, a cup or chalice with a small amount of white wine or white grape juice and a portion of freshly baked bread on a plate. To make Holy Water/Oil
Dea is pronounced Day-a.
Deanic is pronounced: Day-ann-ick.
Janah is pronounced: Yah-nah.
Janite is pronounced: Yah-nite.
Madria is pronounced: Mah-dree-a.
Tracing the Fora please see: The Fora
When a + sign appears in the text, it indicates that the Fora is to be traced over the wine and bread.
To make holy water and holy oil, see here: Holy Water/Oil
At this time, if you wish, you may choose a Patroness Jana. See: Janati
Light candles and incense.
Trace the Sign of the Fora upon yourself while saying, In the Name of the Mother, and of the Daughter, and of the Great Mother. Blessed is She,
Blessed is the Holy One, Our Mother God.
She Who is Mari,
She Who is Janah,
She, Who is Mysteria,
Blessed is She.
INVOCATION OF THE SEVEN JANATI:
Face East, trace the Fora in the air and say:
Hail, Sai Sushuri Grace, be with us. (bow).
Face South, trace the Fora in the air and say:
Hail, Sai Vikhe’, be with us. (bow)
Face West, trace Fora and say:
Hail, Sai Thema, be with us. (bow)
Face North, trace Fora and say:
Hail, Sai Mati Saige, be with us. (bow)
Face East again, trace Fora and say:
Hail, Sai Theia, Sai Candre’ and Sai Rhea, be with us. (bow)
Pray: O, Most Holy Dea, Mother, Daughter and Great Mother, I stand before you on this night of (state either the name of the day, the Feast Day or the name of the Full Moon), before the witness of the Great Janati of the Three-fold Heaven and of the Four-fold Earth, and in union with all the Children of Dea who are with me in Spirit, both in Heaven and on Earth, as I formerly enter the Janite Deanic Ekklesia as a member of Clan Jana.
REFLECTION: (sit or kneel)
Our Lady says: Know well your heart and make examination thereof.
(Examine your heart and conscience. Say a prayer in your own words asking for forgiveness and a return to spiritual purity and then pray:)
O, Madria Dea, I desire to be your true child now and Eternally. May my heart turn from all transient things that I be rid of kear and guided by Your Holy Daughter, returned to Perfect Union with You.
Stand and read the chosen scripture reading and then pray:
Thanks be to Our Lady.
O, Dea, Dove of Peace,
O, Dea, Rose of Joy,
O, Dea, Apple of Wisdom,
O, Dea, Star of Hope,
O, Dea, Fora of Faith,
All: We thank You, we bless You and we adore You.
P: For through Your Compassionate Love, we are infused with Your Luminous Graces and are sheltered beneath Your Great Mantle of Protection. O, Celestial Mother, You are our Universal Light, shining like the Sun; O, Holy Daughter, You are the gentle Moon of our salvation; O, Great Mother, You are the sheltering Stars above us.
Take the holy water and bless (trace) yourself with the Fora while saying:
May I, (state name) be blessed as a Child of Dea in the Name of the Mother, and of the Daughter, and of the Great Mother. Blessed is She. (bow)
Take the incense and Trace the Fora in the air in front of yourself and say:
(If allergic to incense, skip the incense and simply trace the Fora upon yourself while saying:)
May I, (state name) be consecrated as a Child of Dea in the Name of the Mother, and of the Daughter, and of the Great Mother. Blessed is She. (bow)
Dip fingers in holy oil and trace the Fora on your forehead while saying
May I, (state name) be anointed as a Child of Dea in the Name of the Mother, and of the Daughter, and of the Great Mother. Blessed is She. (bow)
Recite the Creed:
by the Eternal One, Madria Dea.
And I believe that She is One and Three and Seven.
I believe in the Celestial Mother, She Who is Pure Light;
The Creatrix of the Earth and of the Heavens,
and of all the infinite Cosmos.
And I believe in Her Holy Daughter, born of the Celestial Mother;
She Who rules all the energies of Creation,
Whose Nature is Perfect Love.
And I believe that there is She, Who stands beyond these Two,
Whose Name has not been spoken upon this Earth;
For She is the Beginning and the end,
The First Principle and the Final Cause,
The unoriginated Origin of Being;
The Great Mother of all that is and all that is not; She, Who Is.
I believe in the Seven Janati, the Seven Great Powers of Dea.
I believe that they are the Living Streams of Virtue who flow from the Mother
and that, together, these Living Streams form the River of Life.
I believe that it is through the Holy Daughter,
that my soul shall rise, renewed in its Perfection,
that I may return to Eternal Communion with the Eternal One,
In the Completion of the Wholeness of Her Will. Blessed is She.
Pray: Silver Star of the Waters,
Who has fashioned all the world into being,
beyond all knowing is the Splendour of Your Light.
Enfold my spirit, within your Mighty Mantle
and may the Pure Stream of Your Grace flow within me,
in this world and in all the worlds to come. Blessed are You. *
Pray: Madria Dea, we pray that You will Bless + the gifts we bring to You, for we bring them not only in our own names, but for all who love You; may they be nourished and grow strong in Your true devotion. +
Beloved Kyria, we bring these gifts for Your blessing + in the name of Holy Ekklesia, who has gathered all of Your children into one Soul, knowing no bounds of either time or space.
For we know that Ekklesia transcends this world, even as this sacred altar transcends the earthly stuff of which its parts are made. We know that as we stand before this altar within Ekklesia, we stand at once before Your Celestial Altar, which is both in Heaven and in every place where Your children come together in Your Name.
Hold the sacrifice (bread) in the smoke of incense with both hands. Place bread back on patene’. (If allergic to incense, you may skip this step.)
Pray: We know that there is but one Sacrifice made by all Your children in every place, eternally. Bless this gift, + that we may take part in that one Sacrifice.
Mother of all that is, accept the gift Your children bring to You.
Lift the Chalice in your left hand and traces the Fora over it with your right.
Pray: Let us offer libation to Dea.
Pour a few drops onto the sacrifice (bread), three times. Then trace the Fora over the chalice, again.
Pray: Madria Dea, as I drink of the one cup, may Your Divine Spirit be infused within my being. (Take three sips).
(After the ritual, The Bread of Sacrifice may either be safely burned as an offering in a wood stove, campfire, etc. If this is not possible, it may be placed on the ground while saying: Return to Mother Nature. The remaining Wine is offered as a libation by pouring it on the ground while saying, Hail, Dea.)
Choosing your Patroness Jana.
A Meditation by Madria Erin Sian Wynn (slightly edited by ArchMadria Pamela Lanides.)
Please note that with each of the pendants offered, the Hamsa or Fora may be substituted as they are the main symbols of the Janite Ekklesia. As noted above, the Hamsa or Fora may also be worn together with the Sacred Symbol of your chosen Jana.
THE SEVEN THRONES
Sit and read:
(Visualize Seven magnificent Thrones before you in the Throne Room of an Heavenly Palace.)
There are three Thrones along one wall, four along the other. On each seats a beautiful being, radiating power and divinity. “These are your Guardian Mothers, the Janati. They are the Seven Angelic Powers of Dea, and are your guides. Each one teachers three different virtues, and while you should listen to all of their voices, you may choose one to be your Patroness, your mentor. Follow your heart.”
The Seven Janati stand up from their Thrones and smile at you. Each holds a pendant in her hand, which they extend towards you. You understand that you should take the pendant of the Jana whom you feel called to be your Patroness.
The first Jana wears orange and gold robes, and dons a bright, gleaming smile. “I am Sai Theia of Three-Fold Spirit. My virtues are Illumination, Joy and Benevolence. If this be your path, take this pendant.” The pendant in her hand, being offered to you, is of the Sun.
The second wears robes the colors of violet and silver. She has a very gentle face and is youthful in appearance. “I am Sai Candre’ of the Three-Fold Spirit. My virtues are Intuition, Purity and Mystery. If you would follow me on this path, take upon yourself my pendant.” The pendant in her hand is a symbol of the Moon.
The third Jana wears indigo and black robes and a veil that covers her eyes. She seems slightly more stern than her sisters, but still kind and loving. “I am Sai Rhea, also of the Three-Fold Spirit. My virtues are Steadfastness, Temperance and Self Restraint. Take my pendant if you would be my student.” The pendant she offers you is of the Fora.
You turn to the four Thrones on the other side of the room.
A strong, fiery looking sword-maiden in red robes smiles at you. “I am Sai Vikhe’, of the Four-Fold Earth. I teach the virtues of Courage, Strength and Valor. Join me, if this is the path you would follow.” She presents you with her pendant, depicting a Rose.
The next Jana stands before you in yellow robes and a confident demeanor. “I am Sai Mati Saige of the Four-Fold Earth. I lead in teaching the virtues of Wisdom, Intelligence and Creativity. Take my pendant if this be the path of virtue that you would follow.” She offers you her pendant, which depicts the North Star.
The second to last Jana has a very kind face of great beauty. She wears robes of pink and green. “I am Sai Sushuri Grace of the Four-Fold Earth. My virtues are Love, Compassion and Mercy. Take my pendant if you would have me as your Patroness.” Her pendant depicts a Dove.
The final Jana looks very radiant and queenly indeed, and dons robes of blue and purple. “I am Sai Thema of the Four-Fold Earth. My virtues are Justice Order and Harmony. Take upon you this pendant if you feel so called.” The pendant in her hand depicts an Apple.
Take some time to think upon these virtues, and, with your Divine Mother’s guidance, take the pendant from the Jana whom you feel called to take as your Patroness. If you do not feel called to take a Patroness Jana at this time, that is okay, too. You can return to the throne room at any time to do so.
Your chosen Patroness Jana fastens the corresponding pendant around your neck, and hugs you, symbolically taking you under her wing. (Place the pendant around your neck and bow.)
9) And the Holy Daughter said: I shall receive this child; I shall set a Jana of Heaven to be the guardian of their soul and the Janati of the Seven Spheres shall pour their gifts upon this child. 11) Let this child walk upon the Earth in the Light of the Spirit for this child has entered into the family of Heaven. (From The Child).
O, Fiery Rose of Heaven, O, Pure Dove of Grace, O, Veiled Fora of Faith,
Help us to aspire to the Heart of the Flame.
You are the Music of the Spheres; You are the Meaning of all words; You are the end of every road and also its beginning.
Help me to come to know You.
SILVER LIGHT OF THE FORESTS
Silver Light of the darkling forests, send us forth in the protection of Your Spirit that no profane thing may enter into us.
Grant us to see all things with delight that are lovely and to glory and increase in Grace and energy.
Fill us with wonder in the sight of the seas and of the heavens and of every place wherein You are.
Commander of the roaring wave, help us to turn from all that is low or inglorious neither with anger nor with pain, but to know that in You we stand above all such things.
Guiding Light of the faithful soul, fill the deepest caverns of our spirit with the exhilaration of Your love. Send us forth upon the world as torchbearers of Your delight and grant us strength in You and in ourselves that we may value all things rightly, regardless of the consuming weight of the profane and the frailty of all that is beautiful.
Eternal is the Light of the Mother,
Eternal is the Love of the Daughter,
Eternal is the Life of the Great Mother,
Blessed is the Eternity of Dea.
Let us bless the Holy One,
Blessed is She.
Let us thank the Seven Janati of Dea.
Thanks be to the Seven Janati.
End of Rite.
